Categories
You can enter as many categories as you like, but there is a limit of five entries per category. See the criteria below for each category...
Brownies & Blondies
Brownies or blondies that are baked in a tray and portioned for sharing. This can include plain and flavoured variants, as well as with or without toppings and decorations.
Classic Cake
A traditional cake, including, but not limited to, Victoria sponge, coffee & walnut, carrot cake, Battenburg, chocolate fudge cake, and more. They can be loaf cakes, round, or other shapes.
Free-From Cake
A cake of any variety but it must be made to suit a specific dietary requirement, such as gluten-free, egg-free, or vegan-friendly.
Fruit Cake
A cake made with candied or dried fruit. This can include a classic fruit cake as well as regional specialities such as Dundee cake and Bara Brith. They can be any size or shape and decorated or plain.
Innovation (NEW!)
Cakes of all shapes and sizes that are bringing something new to the table. The innovation could be a new flavour or flavour combination, a format, decoration style, a hybrid of two cakes, or something else. The innovation must be detailed in the entry.
Individual Cake
Small cakes and muffins with or without toppings and fillings designed to serve one person. This could include fairy cakes, cupcakes, and muffins. Entrants will need to supply six cakes.
Occasion Cake
Sharing-sized, two-tier cakes for a special occasion which have a minimum of 10 portions. This could include birthday cakes, wedding cakes, novelty cakes and more. The base of the cake must fit on a 10” cake board and have a maximum height of 15”. They must be decorated and should go above and beyond an everyday cake.
Traybake
Cakes that are baked in a tray and portioned for sharing. This could include sponge cakes, tray cakes, and more.
