Terms and Conditions of entry

By submitting an entry, you have agreed to our Terms and Conditions below.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Entrants must be registered businesses that are trading in the United Kingdom, and the manufacturer of the cake entered. Employees of the Organiser, their families, agents, or anyone professionally connected with the Competition are not eligible to enter. This is a competition for registered businesses only and is not for home bakers or hobbyists. Any bakery businesses including farm shops, delis and cafes are eligible to enter
  2. Businesses must not enter products which won a category the previous year, but may enter a different product into that same category or any other category.
  3. The Awards are open to residents of Great Britain aged 18 or over. Overseas entrants are not eligible and we're unable to accept entries from Northern Ireland.
  4. Entries will only be accepted if the entrant has registered, completed, and submitted the online entry form no later than Monday 16th February 2026.
  5. The organisers reserve the right to close entries early if the category becomes oversubscribed.
  6. Entrants can submit a maximum of five products per category. Entrants cannot submit the same product across multiple categories. All cakes must be commercially available.
  7. Responsibility is not accepted for entries lost, damaged, or delayed as a result of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
  8. All entries must conform to the category criteria and terms of entry. Otherwise, face being removed without refund.
  9. The organiser reserves the right to change the categories and the judging panel without prior notice to entrants.
  10. Entrants will be contacted on Monday 9th March to confirm the entry meets all requirements laid out in the terms of entry and will proceed to final judging at the UK Food and Drink Shows in April.
  11. Cakes being entered for the Britain’s Best Cake Competition must be delivered in person to the UK Food & Drink Shows by 9:30am on Monday 13th April 2026 as instructed by the organiser.
  12. The Organiser reserves the right at its absolute discretion to reject any entry that it deems inappropriate.
  13. Winners will be announced at The UK Food and Drink Shows 2026.
  14. The Organiser’s decision on all matters affecting this Competition is final and legally binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
  15. Entrants may be required to take part in some pre-event and post-event publicity and consent to their name and photographs (including photographs supplied by the entrant) being used for such purposes.
  16. If entrants provide any images as part of their entry, they confirm that they hold the necessary rights, consents and licences required to use, amend, edit, adapt and publish the images by the Organiser. Each entrant hereby grants to the Organiser a worldwide, non-exclusive royalty-free right and licence to use, reproduce, publish, store, distribute and display the images in accordance with these Terms of entry.
  17. By entering the Competition, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the Data Controller for the purposes of the administration of the Competition and any other purposes to which the Entrant has consented. All entry instructions form part of the rules.
  18. The Organiser and Data Controller is William Reed Ltd, Broadfield Park, Crawley RH11 9RT.
  19. You represent and warrant to the Organiser that all of your entries are labelled in accordance with all applicable product safety rules and regulations and are not misleading. You will make available to the Organiser and the judges a list of all ingredients and allergens, if any, contained in your entries. The Organiser reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse to admit your entries to tasting if any such information has not been provided or is not appropriately displayed.
  20. By entering the Competition, you agree that you shall have the sole liability in respect of the entries and their consumption by the judges or otherwise. You shall indemnify and hold the Organiser harmless from and against all costs, claims, demands, proceedings, liability, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) whatsoever made against or incurred by the Organiser as a result of, or in connection with, the entries and their consumption by the judges or otherwise.
